Terms of Service
Policy version 2026-07-31.2 · Effective date: July 31, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Stitched Patterns website and apps (the "Service"). Stitched Patterns is a service of Rendered Craftworks LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Rendered Craftworks," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Acceptance and Changes
These Terms take effect on the date above and apply to every visitor, registered user, and purchaser. We may update these Terms as the Service changes; we'll update the effective date and version number when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept the update. Material changes affecting your rights will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
2. Eligibility, Age, and Family Use
Stitched Patterns provides general-audience, family-friendly craft content. The account-holder age rule below is about how we handle personal information, not about content suitability.
- An account holder must be at least 13 years old.
- A parent or guardian may use their own account to create patterns with, or for, a younger child — the adult remains the account holder and is responsible for all activity on that account.
- Users aged 13 through the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction may only use the Service with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on the user's behalf.
3. Accounts and Sign-In
You sign in with a one-time "magic link" sent to your email address — there's no password to manage. You're responsible for providing an accurate, working email address and for all activity under your account.
If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization:
- Secure the email account associated with your Stitched Patterns account (change its password, review its own recovery/security settings, and sign it out of anywhere it may be compromised).
- Contact us promptly at [email protected].
Rendered Craftworks may take reasonable protective measures in response, including terminating active sessions on your account, temporarily restricting sensitive account functions (such as purchases or Gallery publishing), and removing content publicly posted without authorization. Because ownership verification can't rely solely on access to a potentially compromised email account, we may ask for additional information to confirm you're the account holder before restoring full access.
4. AI-Generated Artwork and Pattern Limitations
Stitched Patterns uses a third-party AI image model to turn your written description into source artwork, then a deterministic pattern engine to convert that artwork into a cross-stitch chart. Because of how AI image generation works:
- We don't guarantee that generated artwork is unique, original, copyrightable, accurate to your description, suitable for any particular purpose, or free of resemblance to existing works, trademarks, or the likeness of real people.
- You are responsible for the prompts/descriptions you submit and for how you use the resulting artwork and pattern, including making sure you have the right to request and use content based on what you describe.
- Generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, low-quality, or fail to render (see Section 12, Service Availability).
Reporting inappropriate content
If AI-generated artwork on the Service violates these Terms or seems inappropriate, use the in-app "Report" option (available on your own generated artwork and on public Pattern Gallery listings) to flag it to us for review.
5. Your Inputs and Content
You retain whatever rights you already have in the text descriptions ("prompts") you submit. By submitting a prompt, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it doesn't request content that would infringe someone else's rights or violate Section 8 (Acceptable Use) below.
6. License to Use Your Generated Pattern
Subject to these Terms and (where applicable) full payment, we grant you a personal license to:
- download and use the pattern PDF(s) and generated artwork for your own stitching;
- sell finished, physically stitched items made from the pattern.
You may not, without our express written permission or an explicit in-Service feature designed for it (such as the Pattern Gallery, see Section 9):
- redistribute, resell, sublicense, or otherwise share the digital pattern file, PDF, or source artwork itself;
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically republish patterns or artwork from the Service;
- publish the digital pattern/PDF/source files elsewhere, publicly or privately, outside an authorized Stitched Patterns feature.
7. Our Intellectual Property
The Stitched Patterns name, logo, website, app, pattern-generation engine, and all associated software, design, and content we create (excluding your own prompts and the AI-generated output licensed to you above) are owned by Rendered Craftworks LLC or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our trademarks, branding, or underlying software except as needed to use the Service as intended.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to create, submit, or request content that is:
- illegal, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- hateful, harassing, or discriminatory toward any individual or group;
- sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise exploitative of minors, in any form — a zero-tolerance violation resulting in immediate account termination and, where required by law, a report to the relevant authorities;
- otherwise sexually explicit content submitted in a way that violates applicable law or our content-moderation decisions;
- deceptive, fraudulent, or intended to impersonate another person or entity;
- malicious, including attempts to introduce malware, abuse, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts;
- a violation of another person's privacy, including generating content depicting a real, identifiable person without their consent.
We may remove content, or suspend or terminate an account, that violates this section, at our discretion — see Section 11 for when we'll act immediately versus provide notice first.
9. The Pattern Gallery
How sharing works
The Pattern Gallery is a public catalog of patterns other stitchers can purchase.
- Unmodified curated Pattern Ideas. When you generate artwork from one of our curated Pattern Idea prompts without changing its text (including through "Enhance Description"), Gallery sharing is on by default for that pattern, and this is clearly disclosed before you generate it. You can turn sharing off before the pattern is published. Changing style, background, skill level, or pattern-configuration settings does not affect this default — only changing the prompt's actual wording does.
- Custom or modified prompts. If you write your own prompt, or change the text of a curated Pattern Idea in any way before generating artwork (including through "Enhance Description"), Gallery sharing defaults to private/off for that generated image. You may later choose to publish it, which requires an affirmative, unchecked action plus the current versioned Gallery acceptance described below.
Either way, publication also requires you to acknowledge these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and — because publication is permanent (see below) — the specific acknowledgement described in "Publishing is permanent" below.
Publishing is permanent
If you choose to publish a pattern to the Gallery, you authorize Rendered Craftworks LLC to keep the listing and associated artwork, previews, metadata, and pattern/PDF files available permanently. The license granted under this section is perpetual and, to the extent permitted by law, irrevocable. You cannot later require us to delist the contribution, stop offering it to new purchasers, or revoke access previously provided to purchasers. Rendered Craftworks LLC may remove, restrict, modify, or discontinue a listing at its discretion or when reasonably necessary for legal, safety, intellectual-property, security, or operational reasons. Nothing in this provision limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Before any pattern is published — whether an unmodified curated Pattern Idea kept at its default or a custom pattern you affirmatively choose to share — you must accept:
"I understand that publishing this pattern to the Gallery is a permanent decision. I grant the license described in Section 9 of the Terms and cannot later require the listing to be removed."
Gallery Submission License
By publishing, you (the "contributor") grant Rendered Craftworks LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, and (to the extent permitted by law) irrevocable license to your submitted Gallery listing materials — the listing image/preview, title, theme/metadata, and the pattern/PDF files made available to purchasers who buy the listing — solely to operate the Gallery feature. That license covers hosting, storing, reproducing, and displaying the materials; formatting and generating previews from them; promoting the listing within the Service; and selling or otherwise licensing purchaser access to the pattern/PDF files, for as long as we continue to offer the listing. This license does not transfer or assign ownership of your underlying copyright — you keep whatever rights you already have in the content; we only receive the specific, limited rights described above, needed to run the Gallery. You warrant that you have the right to submit the underlying content and that it doesn't violate Section 8. Nothing above limits Rendered Craftworks LLC's own discretion (or legal obligation) to remove, restrict, modify, or discontinue a listing as described in "Publishing is permanent."
Custom pattern theme assignment
When you affirmatively publish a custom or modified-prompt pattern, we automatically assign it to one of the Gallery's existing themes based on your prompt and title, and show you the assigned theme before final publication so you can correct it. If an appropriate theme can't be determined automatically, publication pauses until a theme is manually selected — a pattern is never published with a missing or invalid theme. This does not apply to unmodified curated Pattern Ideas, which reuse their known theme.
Purchasing from the Gallery
Buying a pattern from the Gallery gives you the same personal-use license described in Section 6 — the right to use and stitch the pattern and sell finished physical items — not ownership of the underlying copyright, and not the right to redistribute the digital files.
10. Subscriptions, Credits, Purchases, and Gifts
Prices and included benefits (such as monthly Pattern Gallery credits) are displayed at the time of purchase or subscription and are set by the applicable store or billing provider — we don't restate fixed prices here, since they can change and differ by platform/region.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until canceled. On iOS and Android, subscriptions are billed, renewed, canceled, and restored through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective terms — manage or cancel your subscription through your device's store account settings; we generally cannot cancel an Apple or Google subscription on your behalf. On the web, subscriptions are billed through RevenueCat's Web Billing checkout (which uses Stripe as its underlying payment processor); manage or cancel through your account or by contacting us.
- Monthly Pattern Gallery credits included with a Premium subscription, where offered, apply only to Gallery purchases, do not carry over or accumulate beyond the current billing period, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
- One-time pattern purchases and gifts unlock a specific pattern for the purchasing or receiving account. A gift is claimed by the recipient using the link/code we provide; unclaimed gifts remain available to claim but are not refundable once purchased except as described below.
- Refunds are controlled by the applicable store's or payment provider's policies and applicable law (for example, Apple's or Google's refund process for an in-app purchase, or our web billing provider's process for a web purchase). We don't independently guarantee refunds outside of what the relevant store, provider, or law requires.
- Deleting your account is a separate action from canceling a subscription. Deleting your account does not, by itself, cancel an Apple or Google subscription, and uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription either — those must be managed through the originating store, and billing may continue after deletion until you cancel them there. If you delete an account with an active RevenueCat Web Billing subscription, we cancel its future renewal as part of the deletion process. If your account instead has a subscription billed directly through Stripe outside of RevenueCat Web Billing, we don't currently have an automated way to cancel it as part of deletion, so deletion stops at a safe point and you're given a Stripe billing support path — see our Delete Account page for exactly how each case is handled.
11. Moderation, Suspension, Termination, and Deletion
We may review, remove, or restrict content, and may suspend or terminate an account, for a violation of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, or as required by law. Where reasonably necessary for safety, to prevent fraud or abuse, to comply with a legal requirement, for security reasons, or in response to a serious or repeated violation, we may act immediately without advance notice; otherwise, we'll provide notice where practical before or when we act. You may request immediate self-service account deletion at any time by signing in and using Delete Account in your account settings — see our Delete Account page for exactly what happens, including how an active subscription is handled and what happens to any patterns you've published to the Gallery (see Section 9's "Publishing is permanent" — deleting your account does not remove a published Gallery contribution). Termination or deletion doesn't entitle you to a refund except as required by Section 10 or applicable law.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including specific features, at any time. AI artwork generation and pattern rendering may occasionally fail, time out, or be temporarily unavailable. If an attempt fails, the Service will display available retry guidance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or a particular restoration time.
13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service and all generated content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rendered Craftworks LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here affects any non-waivable consumer protection rights you have under your local law.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rendered Craftworks LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or relating to: (a) prompts, descriptions, images, or other content you submit; (b) your use, publication, distribution, sale, or other commercialization of generated artwork, patterns, digital files, or finished items; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your violation of applicable law or another person's rights. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Rendered Craftworks LLC's own negligence, willful misconduct, or breach of these Terms.
15. Copyright and Other Intellectual Property Complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the content and your claim, and we'll review it in good faith. We may remove content in response to a valid complaint and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any non-waivable rights available under applicable law, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota. Nothing in these Terms requires mandatory arbitration or waives any right to participate in a class action.
17. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements on the same subject.
